The origins of Rizzi date back to 7 June 1911, when the Milan Chamber of Commerce received a company complaint in its own name from Mr. Ernesto Rizzi. His small business, then located in Milan, was specialized in the trading of tools for building, road, agricultural, railway, maritime and related fields. In the 1930s (after a first company name change in Franco Rizzi) the field of interest expanded thanks to the production of rolling stock and lifting of all kinds, in this case trolleys for the internal handling of materials, produced over the years in dozens of variants according to the different fields of use of the product. The production of cast iron, wheeled, fixed and rotating wheels of various types and flow rates and a nascent interest in the technique of internal transport systems also began. In the 1960s Rizzi received orders from Milan’s most established industries of those years, carrying out countless orders for Pirelli, Alfa Romeo, Innocenti, Motta and Alemagna and above all Magneti Marelli.
1968 coincided with the opening of a new plant in Brugherio (MI), a complex that still houses the company’s headquarters. The newborn company, named Trasportatori Rizzi (and then simply Rizzi) under the Moneta-Durì management continued to operate in the field of internal handling. 1977 certified the last change of direction, with a growing interest in a new production sector: the metal coil processing. The company’s historical products continued to evolve, integrating with the increasingly decisive and engaging opening to the stacking, evacuation and packaging automation for sheet bundles and slitted coils. A great specialization that continued throughout the nineties and the beginning of the new Century, in collaboration with the most important players of the sector.
